Zabriskie Point
Zabriskie Point is a part of the Amargosa Range located east of Death Valley in Death Valley National Park in California, United States, noted for its erosional landscape. It is composed of sediments from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up 5 million years ago long before Death Valley came into existence.
While I was living in Los Angeles I often headed to the desert areas to photograph and make films. Death valley in the early morning hours is so still and quiet you are hyper aware and can hear your blood passing through your brain. The contours of the human form blend with the sandy hills.
On returning to Death valley a few years later in the summer months I made a short documentary called Elevation Sea Level. We filmed there in 123 F degree heat which was once recorded as the hottest place on earth.
