Cadillac

from $350.00

At the time, I was living in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, CA, and often took long drives out to the vast Mojave Desert and its surrounding areas. I was deeply interested in exploring Owens Lake, which has a storied and complex history surrounding water consumption for the nearby metropolis, primarily fed by the Colorado River. The iconic film "Chinatown" was based on this very region and its intricate land usage debates. I began to create landscapes of the once vibrant lake towns in this area, particularly focusing on the stark contrast of a classic American car, a Cadillac, left to decay in the now desolate and once-thriving lake resort town of Keeler.
