Watermelon Scales

from $350.00

Salad Days is a series about aging and time passing. This particular image feels like scales or off balance.
I collaborated with my friend Maggie Ward who was at the time working as a food (prop) stylist. I proposed to her a concept where we arrange different fruit and photograph them. Then leave them untouched in place, which happened to be in my garage in Culver City CA and let them age and rot for at least 6 months. Then I re-photographed them. The before and after images together are interesting.
This image makes a rich colorful print as a stand alone image but there is a concept behind this work.
